The Carl Sandburg College baseball team banged out 18 hits and edged Illinois Central 17-16 in a nine-inning slugfest on Wednesday night.

Key Moment
With the Chargers one out away from victory, an error, three walks and a hit-by-pitch pulled the Cougars within 17-16 and left them with the bases loaded. Wynn Takacs (Tipton, Ind./Taylor), however, got the next batter to fly out to center as Sandburg held on for the win.
